Does 01Lingu send my voice or data to the internet?

No. The AI tutor runs entirely on your iPhone. Your voice is processed locally — it is never sent to any server. After the initial model download, the app works with no internet connection at all.

Why does the app need to download a large file first?

01Lingu uses an AI language model that runs locally on your device. The initial download (~1–2 GB) contains the model weights. This only happens once. After that, no data transfer is needed for lessons or practice.

Which iPhones are supported?

01Lingu requires iPhone 15 Pro or later. The app uses the A17 Pro chip (or newer) for on-device AI inference via Apple's MLX framework. Older devices do not have sufficient memory or Neural Engine capability for real-time language tutoring.

Which languages are supported?

01Lingu supports all major languages the underlying model was trained on, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Arabic, and more. The AI tutor adapts to your target language based on your settings.

Can I use 01Lingu offline?

Yes. Once the model is downloaded, 01Lingu works fully offline. No internet is required for lessons, pronunciation feedback, or progress tracking — making it ideal for travel.

How does the tutor track my progress?

01Lingu stores your learning profile — vocabulary gaps, grammar mistakes, session streaks, and proficiency level — locally on your device. This data is never shared externally. The AI uses this profile to adapt every session to your specific weak points.

How do I reset my learning progress?

Go to Settings inside the app and tap Reset all progress. This clears your vocabulary history, streak, and learning profile. The model files are not deleted — the app remains ready to use immediately.

The app crashed or the model stopped responding. What should I do?

On-device AI inference requires significant memory. If the app crashes mid-session, try restarting it and beginning a shorter session. Make sure no other large apps are running in the background. If crashes happen frequently, email us with your iPhone model and iOS version.

How do I delete all my data?

All data is stored locally on your device. To delete everything, delete 01Lingu from your iPhone — all progress, vocabulary history, and settings are removed instantly. You can also reset progress without deleting the app via Settings → Reset all progress.

Is the app available on Android or iPad?

Currently, 01Lingu is available on iPhone only. iPad support is planned. Android is not currently supported because the app relies on Apple's MLX framework for on-device inference, which is specific to Apple Silicon.
